It’s been a year!

And a great one at that. One with high highs and low lows, but one with so many meaningful moments wrapped into one. A year full of growth and setbacks, feeling defeated and getting back up again (and again). A year filled with a whole lot of hard work.

And you know what. When I look back I can see. Its paying off!

We planted a peony field!

Yep-a whole field just for one of my all time favorite and most beautiful flowers-peonies. 175 plants to be exact.

Is it terrifying to invest so much in one plant? Absolutely! Is it a huge risk? YEP! But is it worth it - 100%

Peonies are the top dog in the flower world. One of the most stunning and sought after flowers. Also, one of the most expensive and hard to come by at times.

One of my dreams with this little flower farm is to make flowers accessible to all. Because everyone deserves pretty things that make you smile. So why not include peonies?!

Will we have peonies in the spring for you all? I hope so, but I do not exactly know. If we do, will I announce it here first? You bet! So hang tight!

And we ended the year just how it started. With baby chicks.

Right now as I type this I hear the little chips of baby chicks coming from the corner where our Christmas tree stands. Turns out that hen that we thought disappeared was actually hiding somewhere brooding. She turned up a week ago with ten babies in tow. No heat lamps, no special incubator. Just the good old fashion way.

Needless to say, the kids have decided this is the best Christmas ever!

We made so many beautiful arrangements, but my favorite flower project of the year was one that might surprise you.

Flowers fit for a champion.

I had the honor of creating this beautiful garland for a champion steer and a champion heifer at this year’s county fair. Both belonged to the children of a wonderful local family. It’s moments like this when I get to use my talents to honor those I care deeply about that bring it full circle for me.

To be able to put my homegrown flowers on this homegrown animal that has received so much love during its life makes me smile.

We spent many days at the beach.

We made the most of the winter storms and all the water at home.

We caught (and released) WAY too many toads.

LOTS of farm chores were done-always in style!

Lots of summer nights were spent running through the flower fields.

Teeth were lost.

Guitars were bought - with his own money earned selling golf balls.

Family costumes won Halloween again.

Turkey trots were won!

Christmas trees were bought - again with golf ball money.

We are flower farmers.

But first and foremost, we are a family.

Your support means that we are able to make these memories with our family. It means that we are able to slow down and take in the moments. It means that we are present. It means that we can show up.

For that, we thank you!

Your support allows us to keep making memories and supporting our family. All at home on the ranch.
